At the last Administrative Board meeting, it was decided to establish a Committee on Missions, separate from the Outreach Committee. The purpose of the Missions Committee is to reach out to people in the name of Jesus Christ, to relate people to God, to nurture and strengthen people in their journey of discipleship, and to send people into the world to be the church. Any member of the church who has an interest in the area of mission work is invited to become a part of the Missions Committee.
This will be a dynamic committee, whose responsibilities will include engaging the congregation in mission opportunities and service projects that seek to address the needs of our community, our country and our world. The church-wide mission committee will complement those mission projects already being done by various groups in the church, such as Sunday School classes and women’s and youth groups.

The ministries of Tranquil promote the spiritual growth of its members, with activities for young people, children, and adults.
Family Ministries activities include 5th Sunday events, Thanksgiving Dinner, and Mother's Day Brunch.
United Methodist Women meets monthly. Among projects of the UMW are providing ongoing support to shut-ins and delivering Christmas bags to senior members of the congregation.
Senior Adults - "The Tranquilites" - meet monthly for lunch and often take day-trips to points of interest.
Nursing Home Ministry - Tranquil members conduct monthly Sunday School at a local nursing home.

Vacation Bible School is held each summer and reaches out to the Greenwood community to provide a week of fun and learning.
Church Softball League provides members with a recreational activity in a Christian atmosphere.
